SoulCollage® is a deeply personal and intuitive form of art therapy developed by Seena B. Frost in the late 1980s, designed to facilitate self-discovery and emotional exploration through creative collage-making. Participants create 5×8 inch cards by intuitively selecting and arranging images from magazines, photographs, and personal artwork that resonate on a profound emotional level, representing different aspects of the self.
The process goes beyond simple image creation, incorporating a unique journaling technique where participants write from the perspective of each card using the phrase “I am the one who…” This approach allows for deep dialogue with different parts of the self, uncovering hidden insights, emotions, and internal narratives. Each card becomes a visual and textual representation of an internal aspect, offering a tangible way to explore one’s inner landscape.
Therapeutically, SoulCollage® provides numerous psychological benefits, including emotional processing, trauma healing, accessing unconscious material, and building self-compassion. The method is particularly powerful because it bypasses verbal and intellectual defenses, allowing participants to engage with their inner world through intuitive, visual means. It is intentionally designed to be non-technical and accessible, emphasizing personal intuition and emotional resonance over artistic skill.
The practice shares significant philosophical overlap with Internal Family Systems therapy, as both approaches view the self as a complex system of interconnected parts. By creating cards that represent different internal voices, experiences, and energies, participants can gain greater understanding of their internal dynamics, promote healing, and cultivate a more compassionate relationship with themselves. SoulCollage® can be practiced individually or in group settings, making it a versatile tool for personal growth, therapeutic exploration, and self-understanding.

UPDATE: This workshop is for women of all ages! It is a celebration of girls and women being themselves. Based on the book Strong is the New Pretty, by Kate T. Parker (2017), we will explore how “real beauty” is being your Authentic Self 100% and owning it! Kate is a photographer and mother who captures the images of girls and women who are confident, wild, resilient, creative, determined, kind, fearless, joyful, and independent.
Calling all WOMEN to claim and reclaim your strengths to help you face adversity and celebrate life. Come join SoulCollage® facilitator and therapist, Nadine Lucas, LMHC, as we discover what it means to be AUTHENTIC. This 3-hour Workshop includes all collage materials, images, and card-making / journaling supplies.
We will spend time playing, sharing, making SoulCollage® cards and exploring our strengths individually, in dyads, and small and large groups. Please bring any personal snacks/drinks. Gluten free snacks and water will be provided. In addition, each participant will receive a goody bag with lots of cool stuff! Never Forget How Strong You Are!

Becoming Untamed!

In her book, Untamed (2020), Glennon Doyle says there is a voice of longing in each of us. She says we often strive to be good partners, mothers, daughters, employees, and friends, hoping it will make us feel alive. Instead, this striving to be good can leave us feeling weary, stuck, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed.
How do you feel? Discontented? Bored? Frustrated? Curious? Do you have a good enough life, but are craving for something better? More alive, more….wild? Are you crazy to long for something better? Glennon Doyle says, “No, you are not crazy! You are a goddamn cheetah!”
Just because we don’t live in a zoo doesn’t mean we aren’t caged! Come play and create in this three-hour SoulCollage® workshop for women. We will learn how to be brave and explore our wild natures, before society put us in cages and told us who to be.
With Curiosity, we will discover how to be truly and fully alive! We will explore how to set boundaries, honor our anger and heartbreak, and unleash our beautiful wild selves, so that we can be authentic and say with confidence, “I am a goddamn cheetah!”
